Our bus will depart from the port of Piraeus to head towards Athens. The tour begins with a short stop at the Panathenaic state or Kalimarmaro to permit us to admire the Arch of Hadrian. Then continue with a scenic tour of downtown Athens , visiting first the Syntagma Square , where you will see the Royal Palace, built by Otto I of Bavaria , and now the seat of Parliament, and the Monument to the Unknown Soldier where you can watch the traditional changing of the Guard (if the time available permits) , Constitution Square and Omonia Square. Then we will continue our walk to the city center , and you can admire some of the neoclassical buildings of the city, such as the University , the Academy and the Library. We'll get back to our bus for continue our visit in the direction of the Acropolis , in which we will visit the Temple of Athena , the Parthenon and the Temple of Erechthion ( Erechtheion ) .
Before return to the port , we will stop in the ancient district of Plaka, very characteristic because of the quaint narrow streets, traditional tavernas and typical workshops .
