What's eating:
Sarde in saor: fried sardines, dipped in partially fried onion in the same oil in which they are fried sardines, raisins and pine nuts. Połenta e schie: small shrimp from the lagoon (gray mud, gray-brown from boiled), fried and perched on a bed of white polenta (semolina).
Sepe al nero: cuttlefish cooked with their ink.
Fegato alła veneziana: liver, chopped and cooked together with chopped onions.

Souvenir: Gondola shirt or hat, carnival mask, jewelry with murano stones.

Code Dress: Please note the Dress Code recommended to enter any church. No shorts, bare shoulders or miniskirts. This applies to both men and women. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

SHORE EXCURSION IN ITALY: VENICE

Our shore excursion will start in Piazza San Marco (St Mark's Square), where we will meet our guide. Here we'lladmire admiring the St. Mark Cathedral (external visit), which was built next to the Palazzo Ducale in 828 as the house the relics of St. Mark which were stolen, according to tradition, in Alexandria by two Venetian merchants .
Then we will continue our shore excursion through narrow streets and small squares ("calli" and "Campielli"), cross the Grand Canal along the Rialto Bridge , thus reaching the Teatro La Fenice . We will admire the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, mostly in gothic style, and the Rialto Market, the real center of city life.
We will cross again the Rialto Bridge, and we will walk towards Corte del Milion, where is Marco Polo House, reaching Campos San Giovanni e Polo. We'll get back to Piazza San Marco , we will admire from outside the Ducal Palace, one of the symbols of the city and the ancient residence of the Doge and the Venetian.
At the end of the shore excursion, anyone who wants, can make a guided tour of the Palazzo Ducale, buying the ticket at the time. Otherwise we will have some free time to spend as you like, to take a gondola ride or walk around the city.
Finally the guide will give you the directions for go back to the Venice port.
