MALAGA SHORE EXCURSIONS
From the port by bus we will head towards the highest point of Malaga (20 minutes), where we will visit the towering Gibralfaro’s Castle, from the Phoenician era, and the fortress of Alcazaba, which as the name suggests is a fortification of Arab era (eleventh century) . From the Castle, strategically located on a hill overlooking the entire city , you can enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramic views of Malaga. At the end of the visit of the Alcazaba, we will visit the ruins of a Roman theater .
Our shore excursion will continue with the visit (external) of the Cathedral, one of the most important monuments of Andalucia of the period of Renaissance, founded between 1528 and 1782 by the Catholic Monarchs ; however the Cathedral has a bell tower incomplete, for this reason is nicknamed by the people "The manquita" (the faulty)
We can then continue the shore excursion, arriving in the Plaza de la Merced, where we will find the birthplace of Pablo Picasso House (external visit) , and along some of the city's main streets, such as Calle Granada, Calle Marqués de Larios, until arrive in Plaza de la Marina. From there, walking along the “Paseo del Parque”, that is a street passing through the center of a park, which will lead us to Plaza de Toros de la Malagueta ( Taurus Square). There we will take our bus to come back to the port for boarding.
